Dusting Off
Wow…my last post was February 22. I didn’t realize it had been so long. So much has happened in the last couple of months. I really don’t know where to begin. Quite honestly, most of it is pretty boring.
Maybe I’ll just hit the highlights.
- I got a new job! I’m now a home health/hospice nurse. And so far I’m loving it. I still work for the same organization, just a different branch. I have regular hours (8-4:30) and have the same day off every week. This job is so different from the hospital. I actually get to spend time with the patient and their family without being called out of the room every 5 mins. I have the time to teach the patient about their disease and what to expect. I love it
For the first time in a very long time, I don’t dread going to work. - My Emily came to visit me for a long weekend on March! I loved having her here! She survived meeting my husband, kids, and all 3 dogs. Luna, my pug, has made a new BFFL. I can’t wait to see here again…..
- M4!! Its just over a month away. This is the Midwest Mafia Meet-up in Milwaukee. Its a chance to meet up with some great people that I met last summer and see a few other friends that are out of state. I can’t wait until June 18th.
- My baby girl has officially started driver’s ed. She can’t get behind the steering wheel until August 5th (that’s when she’s 15 1/2), but she’s in the classroom portion now. She loves it. And when I drive she points out everything I do wrong. Her driving career may be over before it starts.
Hmm, 4 highlights. That doesn’t really seem like a lot. I intend to be here more often. I’ve kind of forgotten that it feels good to get stuff out. Heaven knows that I can babble on and on about most anything
I think I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’d hate to get cramps in my fingers from typing on my first visit back here.
My Becky! I’m so stinkin’ glad you finally posted! I’ve missed ya around here! Lol Even though I haven’t been posting either, up until this last week… I still read everyone! =)
Anyway.
I’m ecstatic for you that you’ve found a job that you love… and are fabulous at, I’m sure!
Scary stuff that your baby is old enough to drive, but pretty cool at the same time. I remember the day that I got my permit, my dad made me drive the stick-shift van. Which wouldn’t have been so bad if he didn’t make me stop halfway up a freakin’ hill and learn how to go again lol. But you know what? Even though I almost burnt out his clutch that day before getting the hang of it, I can drive a stick with the best of them now.
Also, even though there’s scary parts about all this… your life is about to become a LOT easier with her driving. I cannot count how many trips I made to the store, post office, picking up siblings, etc. between the ages of 16 and 18 haha.
Well, I guess this comment is long enough. Better go before I get tagged as a spammer!
But I love ya with my whole butt! Looking forward to being only a hop, skip, and a jump from ya!
XOXO,
Amber
Yay! I loved seeing my Becky! I can’t believe it was almost 2 months ago. Seems like yesterday. I will come back. I promise.
And I miss Looney Luna! I’m still waiting to get a FedEx package with her in it.
Well, well, well.
Look at what the cat dragged in.
I’m so glad for all the positive changes you’ve made – and especially that you are finally at a job that you can enjoy and doesn’t make you want to off yourself just to escape the misery!
I absolutely cannot wait for M4. It’s gonna be fan-freakin-tastic!
I’m so glad you are back!! The new job sounds wonderful!!
I wanna go to the midwest mafia thing. Dammit man, why do I have to have a job??
Your comment about Taylor’s prospect for a driver’s license cracked me (and Randy) up! *G*
Congrats on the new job!
And for not making your child get out of the car and walk everytime she gives you driving suggestions.
Wait…Taylor loves Drivers Ed? She was just texting me that her teacher looks like a pedophile.
(also, I am supposed to bug you about coming to Portland. No one made me do this, nope.)
36 days!!
I was so excited when I saw you in my reader!!! So happy for all the good stuff happening to you!
You deserve it!!
Everyone has good stuff happening these days and we are all slacking on the posting. Honestly, it is just better to enjoy what you’ve got and live in the moment sometimes.
Glad for the update and for all the good things going on for you. Keep on keeping. Miss ya!
Congrats on the new job, miss lady! That is exciting stuff.
